most of my girls lay thier eggs in the coop on floor in the corners - dont ever use a nesting box - but oh well at least they are in the coop - everyone that is but my little banty hen Bonnie - who likes to go UNDER the coop. this coop is on pallets so not very high off the ground in order to get to her egg you have to open the large clean out door get on your hands and knees and reach in under the coop while the other chickens are all around your face, on my back, to see what I am doing ?!?!

My oldest hen use to come in the back porch through the cat door and lay her eggs next to the freezer in the corner. I never would have thought she could figure out the cat door. But the others girls would follow her in and then couldn't figure how to get back out! Blonde moment chickens I guess.

That is too cute.The places they lay their eggs.I thought mine was something.I thought also I would never get a Aracauna egg.So I told people well they will be laying at least by Feb.Wrong just started last Sunday,and could have not been a better time to start laying.Since then I ahve had about 10 and very proud.
Went to collect eggs today and thought all was got ,went back about 2 hrs later,no more eggs.So I thought I will shake the feed down in the feed buckets.Looked in there was not 2 but 4 hidden under the feed,,,LOL And what is so cute is get all these nice little beds amde for them all cleaned out and where do they lay,on the ground,,,

But I am so happy that they are laying now.Because I did not think they ever would!!!!

There were 11 eggs in the Redneck Eggloo. There were at least 3 different chickens using it too!
