Lol wow, those pics are terrible! New phone so I'm still learning its quirks. Anyway, we've got ISA Browns and 5 surprise mutts hatched by a Sapphire Gem/Easter Egger cross hen. The rooster was the same cross. The chicks are interesting colors. Some have poufy cheeks and green legs and some don't.

New cameras can take some time to get use to! The flock looks good.

We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members. Of course, life gets busy, so I was thinking it would be fun to start a thread welcoming some of our peeps we haven't heard from in a while.

If that's you, come say hello and let us know what you've been up to. :)

(if that's not you, feel free to invite peeps you haven't seen in a while and say hi to those that post here)
I’m busy trying to get these eggs to hatch in the incubator. I’m not sure if it’s the MS heat or what but this hatching season has been really hard for me and the chicks!

Hello all!
I don't come on here as often as I'd like because it's summer and that means a lot of practicing because it's rodeo season. I breakaway rope so that takes a lot of my time.

I just came back on here to get some help identifying all these guinea colors I have.

It is nice to see you here!

Flock health, temperature control and humidity are the main issues with hatching!

Temperature control is #1. I hope you get better hatches soon!

There is a fun thread going on currently: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...controlled-incubator-testers-journey.1632452/

Best,

Ron

Roping does sound like it take s lot of practice!

I see you got some help on the Guinea thread. They are very cute!

Hi all...
I've been painfully busy and seems bad news has been the theme for 2024.
Both of our dogs passed within 2 months of eachother. My mother was sick... thankfully she's healthy again though changed. Then today I walk out on my porch and bam...roundworms in chicken poop. I just want to clean it up and order treatment but my toddler demanded to investigate it which well was very hard to explain that there was a sick chicken. If it's not been too dry here we are flooding and the temperatures seem to forget the seasons.
I need 2024 to wrap up positively because it's only July and I'm exhausted
