Friederich,

Towards the bottom. You're asking for donations to fund research projects. However, Chiang Mai, where you live, is home to one of the largest universities, with the largest agriculture department in the country. For what it's worth, Chiang Mai also has a zoo, that is partially funded by the University. The Huai Hong Khrai Royal Project, also in Chiang Mai, is literally in your backyard. All of those groups are involved in Green Peafowl research on some level, but you go all over Asia, by yourself, researching Green Peafowl to post to a website? I see.

You say that you live in Thailand full time, yet on the site it says you took time off from work in Germany. I get not updating websites, but I'm just pointing out things as you say they are. They look contradictory.

But you DO know. By law, all birds being exported are required to have all of these documents, and testing. You know this. Telling people here that you don't know if other breeders are doing this with exported birds is a lie.

@Destin: You asked Reinhold where he got his birds from, and he didn't answer the question, but it's on the Guestbook page of Prani:
I am only speculating that this is his post:

Hello Prani, it was a pleasure for me to visit you and Fritz in June. I hope you and your animals are well. Congratulations to your breeding station and all the best for the future.

The interesting thing to me is that under the agreement with the German Govt, an owner can travel with "pet birds" with a health certificate, translated to German (Ref EC Decision 25/2007). The number isn't specified. So, let's say Frederich flies to Germany. He can take a number of birds with him as "pets" to Germany at little to no expense, and export them from Germany. I can understand why he'd be upset at some Yank having some people on the ground in Thailand who can circumvent all of the infrastructure he's put into place.

Hello PeaDaddy,

who you are??
You are guessing and insinuate a lot of thing to other people. When you write things you should write the truth! You are right, there is the EU regulation (Ref EC Decision 25/2007). But the number of birds is limited
you should not lie.

I have name and an address and if you want to talk with me you can call me. But I don’t like people who write in a forum under a synonym that other people are lying. If I have to say something everybody can know who I’m.

You should come down a little bit.

Regards
Reinhold

Que the business partner. You are his German business partner, correct? That is you? Reinhold Bauer?

If you can articulately dispute anything that I've written, please do.

As I stated above, the number (of birds) wasn't specified. What I should have said was, the number wasn't specified in the document that I read, which was this:
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2010:316:0010:0016:EN:PDF

That makes me a liar? Hardly. I can cite my sources. If there's a misunderstanding, I can explain it. And if I need to, I'll find the most current document which spells it out what the number of "pets" is limited to. Or, you could just tell us.

Of course, the one I'm reading might be outdated, but 2010 was the most recent that I could find.

Thanks for the offer to call you, but I'm not interested in that at this time. I stand by everything that I've written. Facts are facts, and people's reputations speak for themselves.

Stop deliberately misleading people into thinking that Prani is the only licensed breeder in Thailand, that every bird except theirs is a purebred, and that they're the only breeder that ships documented and papered birds with a health cert and a "warranty". Stop spinning wild yarns about how expensive it is to ship birds to Germany when, for the cost of a plane ticket, he can fly to Germany with the birds as "pets" to be re-sold commercially. By you. Stop asking for "donations" to go on research trips that are serving no legitimate scientific purpose and are doing nothing to determine actual numbers of Green Peafowl remaining in the wild.

Dear PeaDaddy,

it is no secret, everybody can know my name. But you don’t tell us your name. All what you write is under your synonym.
This is my last post to you and you should read it and stop with your guessing and insinuations

You are writing things which are not correct. All other people in this case you call liar. You all the time are saying this. I’m normally much more reluctant.

  1. Your interpretation that I’m a business partner of Friedrich is nonsense. I got my peafowl from him but this is all! I don’t have $ signs in my eyes when I talk about my peafowls. It is just my hobby and passion to conserve these beautiful birds. This is a significant difference between us. But everybody is free to do what he has to do.
  2. I know Friedrich very well and he is always a straight and sincere man he don’t have any German company or business partner and he don’t have any domicile in Germany.
You say things which are not true, what is this? a lie?

If you would like to know anything more about me than contact me and not write things in a post which are not correspond to any facts.

What was your last sentence “Facts are facts, and people's reputations speak for themselves.”

I hope in future you will consider this.

Reinhold
