Checking the cows today

LOL. We took new blocks out and took the pieces back home to give to the 3 heifers we kept at home. I guess they do kind of look like a slab of meat!!

I went back and looked at that photo. I can see where they might look like slabs of meat but, I've seen that type of pic enough it didn't register that way to me. I guess it's all in what we are use to.

That last photo reminds me of the cattle I used to show in 4-H. I hurt my shoulder in a car wreck and had to give up that job:( The lady I showed for was so nice. She paid everything and I got to keep the prize money won. My name was even put on their registration papers so I could show them in junior classes for her at the bigger shows with Open and Junior classes. I sure miss them. I'm thinking someday I may get some mini cattle do I can be around cattle again and hopefully I will be able to lead them around easier if someone else halter breaks them for me.

I can't see the cow in pic #3 either.

I love cows and would love to have one as a pet. I met a man last weekend that has a 6month old heiffer that was bottle raised. They've named her Lobelia and I'm very, very tempted to get her.....but I really can't afford another critter to feed.

All my animals are pets....

Except for my 2 longhorn cross cows that are in a different pasture and one of them's heifer they're all a mix of Simmental and Angus. There's still a little Hereford blood in there from about 20+ years back I suppose. Had a few hereford cross cows back then. No Charlois tho. All of our cows have been born and raised on our farm.

Ahhh, the red/white ones are simmental then. There are also black/white simmentals, but I've only see red/white around here.

What about the gray/white ones?

We've had red/white, black/white, and also light yellowish/white simmental bulls in the past. The light colored cows are all out of the yellowish bulls.
