Chemical Ducks?

I think a lot more people are starting to do this as they realize how unhealthy mass produced meat can be.

The videos are disturbing--if not from a human health standpoint, then definitely with a view towards animal welfare. I've noticed a lot more people who are turning to alternatives to mass produced meat and eggs. The videos coming from these huge animal factories are horrific. That is mainly why I am having a harder and harder time eating meat. I'm in no way a fanatic. I love me a good steak!

I also love animals and I don't want them to suffer unnecessarily before they become my dinner.

I agree that the best way to buy your food is local whenever possible. That way you can get to know the farmer and know how they treat their animals and you are supporting your local economy.

Very nicely written! Too many people freak out when they see/hear/read a few. Yes, there are always going to be unscrupulous business owners out there that will do anything (or nothing) to try and make a buck. Yes, something needs to be done about these owners and getting the public involved is a good way to do just that. But there are MANY more that truly care about the business they are in. Luckily, the majority of farmers in the US are in this second category. Unfortunately, the clean, law-abiding, "boring" cattle operations do not sell newspapers/TV shows/movies. I guess I'm lucky to live in an area that has many local meat/dairy/produce operations and do not need to buy from Walmart, Aldi, etc....
