Chesapeake Energy vandals!!!!!! Vent and questions!

If they are that close to your home, I would ask Chesapeake to install some sort of barrier between you and the workers. They do it all the time out here in order to help block out some of the light and noise, and I guess, the workers. I have seen walls made of canvas materials. I don't know how effective that would be, but it might help with the privacy issue.

I think that people who have drilling that close to the property should be compensated for the noise and interruption. I am suprised they have not offered something.

These people won't "offer' anything til they're forced to make an offer. If you talk to an attorney (most have a free consultation) you may find they owe you a lot you were not aware of. Its time to educate yourself here. No one is going to step up and hand you bags of money. You're going to have to ask........No DEMAND IT!
I am NOT against big business, or people making lots of money. BUT it HAS TO BE done ETHICALLY.
Which seems to be lost on a lot of companies now days.

I agree - the gas companies are in a frenzy here right now due to the discovery of the Haynesville Shale. It's supposed to be the 3rd or 4th largest find in this country.

Lammie is right, if you don't take the money they will take the gas anyway and you will have nothing. Talk to an attorney - you and your surrounding neighbors can get together and negotiate a deal with the gas company.

My parents and their neighbors got letters this week from the gas companies to lease. It can definitely be a good thing for you.

Problem being they do not want to lease our land we do not have but just 2 acres and they found no gas pockets on our land at all. The only letter we have gotten was to by our mineral rights from us for $540.00 , like they must think we fell off the potatoe truck yesterday! That was at the beginning of this whole mess and no wells yet on the street. Now we have 7 and a pumping station and humongus generator that runs 24/7 and a 1/2 mile a way and it sounds like it is next door. The only thing we have gotten is a check for $ 100.00 in the past year. Now if I was in a million dollar house with 50 acres I am sure they would be a little more interested, now we are just an inconvience to them in the way of the proigress they want to make.
