She nickered as he approached, then bent down and scratched her face on her leg. "I slept okay." She lied, "It takes a while to get used to being on the road again." Like being woken at midnight because the kid on third watch saw a squirrel and thought it an orc. She lifted her head and shook her fetlock. "How did you sleep?"
Alok nodded. "Well, kept waking up because of that jumpy kid on first watch and that kid on third watch, other than that, I didn't sleep horribly." It was not too much of a lie, he told himself. Yes, this time his dreams had been bad but not like his other dreams, not frighteningly horrible.

Wordlessly, he flicked his tail and wrapped it around the vase she carried. "No, madam," he said, and lifted it into the air, "let me help you. With this... lovely trinket." He purred, "Where did you get it, hmm?"
Grervyn just gave him a penetrating gaze. "You don't tell nobody and I'll help you with anything," she said with clenched teeth. Her slender tongue wasn't locked in her mouth with frustration, it was actually that a few gemstones happened to be hidden under it.

Daz had been up before the sun, like she was every day. It was the only time of day she actually enjoyed cooking. The cool night air on her neck while the glowing embers heated her cheeks. She had managed to get all the biscuits cooked for the day. And was now stirring a large pot of boiling vegetables that would be their breakfast.

She banged off the wooden spoon on the edge of the pot and set it to the side so it didnt slip below the surface.

No one had better complain she thought to herself. It wasnt her fault there were no good vegetables this time of year.

"They woke you, too? Oh, dear, I'm sorry to hear that." She sighed, and started off down the hill, towards Dazorn's stew pot, where a crowd was already gathering. "You sleep so little as it is." She whispered.

Daz started portioning out the stew, as people began surrounding her. "Mornin'" she said to each of them in turn handing them a biscuit to go with their stew. Some responded with a 'good mornin' in return others grunted their displeasure at being awake.

She didn't try to hide criticism in her eyes for those who would complain, she had been up long enough that she already wanted to crawl back to her bed roll and sleep the day away.

"Mornin'" She said again, and held out another biscuit.

Heath's face jumped almost involuntarily at the thought. Disgusting. Still, he found himself lowering the vase. Pawns could be useful too, when no one expects anything of them. "I'll take that wager." He cooed.
Setting the vase back down, he went back on his way, hurrying for once, to get to the throne room on time.
