Belle awoke in the woods to a krik in her neck and found that she had slept on a rock. How hard it was to find a smooth patch in this maker-forsaken country. She pulled herself up and shook her mane, coat, and at last her tail. The sun had barely peaked over the horizon, later than she would normally like to have risin. Everything changed in this few minutes of the morning. She could already feel it warming the air and the smell changed from a crisp, frosted lightness to the normal morning mugg. The wind- normally still at night- picked up as well. She stamped and twitched her tail. Great. She had missed her favorite part of the day.

She gazed down at the camp and noticed a few bodies stirring, along with a couple grunts and groans of the younglings being woken.

Daz had been up before the sun, like she was every day. It was the only time of day she actually enjoyed cooking. The cool night air on her neck while the glowing embers heated her cheeks. She had managed to get all the biscuits cooked for the day. And was now stirring a large pot of boiling vegetables that would be their breakfast.

She banged off the wooden spoon on the edge of the pot and set it to the side so it didnt slip below the surface.

No one had better complain she thought to herself. It wasnt her fault there were no good vegetables this time of year.

Alok was already awake, and was just finishing up waking several others, whom, grumpily, obeyed.
He came up beside Belle, and pulled out his water jug, taking a sip of it and put it back. "How'd you sleep?" He asked softly.

Grervyn slipped quickly over the tiles, her smooth, white, vulnerable belly brushing the tiles as she slithered along on her short legs. Her wings were tented, and her isocele scraped the floor. "What are you doing, Lionhearted?" She hissed, her forked red tongue flickering, as she stood in his way.
Her yellow eyes glittered and she held his hypnotic feline gaze in her even more hypnotic dragon one. She was holding a fairly expensive looking vase in one of her six hands.
The cat sniffed. Pathetic. "Can no one pronounced my title?" He moaned, rolling his eyes. Though she were as small as she was, her eyes made his fur prickle, but there was no way he was going to admit that. "But I guess I can't expect much fromfrom peas. Uneducated as it were." He paraded around her, letting the light from the stained glass catch filter over his back.

Queste decided the gargoyle's eyesight was going. Even with her human guise, he should have noticed something odd about her, and she noted no surprise during her brief visit. Human emotion never failed to fascinate her, though she had been one herself, but now it no longer showed on her face, and little emotion but fear was about when she approached. Or he already knew. She had questioned his wisdom at times, but maybe... just maybe...
