Chestnuts

Do stores sell chestnuts? Or do I need to find a chestnut tree?

The closest ones would be the buckeyes.....not sure if they can be eaten.

Thanks for the name of those nuts....Brazil nuts...gotta go and find me some!

"CHESTNUTS ROASTING ON AN OPEN FIRE"

I have a Chestnut tree!! Love them in the Fall of the year. Little old lady that lived close to me use to come every year to gather Chestnuts to roast and keep in her fridge all winter long. They tastes great!

Edited to edit my spelling!

I never had them either. My friend in New York was horrified so she is sending some to me this week that she roasted. We do have lots of pecans here though! Eight trees of them, ranging in age from 100 years to 30, all different varieties & sizes.

When I was a kid we roasted them in the old metal popcorn popper in the fireplace. They're common around here. In the fall people leave them out on tables in little bags in their yards. This year they were $2 for a lunchbag full.
