We have 18 chickens of various breeds. About a year ago 3 of the 18 had their wings clipped because they were flying over the fence into the neighbors horse pasture and hanging out in the road. Those three chickens have picked at their backs and wings until they no longer have feathers. Just the hollow shaft of the feathers are remaining on their wings. One of them fell in the window well today and was unable to get out because she has skinny little chicken arms (not wings anymore). I don't think the other chickens are picking at them from watching the flock they seem to only be picking on themselves. All three of them are still laying on a daily basis, so I don't think they are actually unhappy. Is there anything I can do at this point?

Here is a picture of the skinny chicken arms. This chickens name is "Twilight Sparkle".. she is not looking very sparkly.

Are you finding any feathers?.....

If not your birds have a methionine deficiency in their feed. They eat feathers to combat this, easiest fix is change or add to your current feed.

That's a start

It's only the three that had their wings clipped. We can change feed, but I would think if that was the problem all 18 of them would be having issues. Worth a try... I will research different feeds and see what I can find.
