Chia and/or flax seed ok for treat for 2ish week old chicks?

I was in the grocery store and tried to grab a few things I could use as treats for my chicks. I ended up with lettuce I will shred and flax and chia seeds. Are the flax and chia seed ok for chicks? I don't intend to over do it or anything, I plan on giving them very little once a day or every other day so they eat their nutritious chick food. maybe I'm being too cautious but rather safe than sorry.

Your 2 week old chicks should be only feed starter crumbles for best results. Seeds should to be fed to birds that already have taken on grit. Otherwise they will have difficulty digesting. Starter feed is as ideal as you can get. (complete nutrition) All these added items are better given to chickens when mature.

i gave my week old chicks chia seeds yesterday! i let them soak all morning in water so they formed the little gel around them. they ate them right up! i also offerd them the Dumor chick grit with it!

Feeding treats sounds like fun for the humans but boy could it ruin a bird.
Please keep all treats to a minimum..like a once a week thing and only a small amount.

Feeding them a complete feed is so much more healthier for any and all birds.
