Chic Chick 'Bator *UPDATED*

I'm not an experienced hatcher.... (hope to be one soon), but yes you can use a bright flashlight. Put the egg at the top of the flashlight with your room dark & it'll illuminate the egg inners. I've tried it with a store bought egg...neat. I happened to use my hubby's led light, which is Real Bright. But there are egg candling lights for specificly candling eggs that are available.

I use a surefire tactical flashlight. Hold it to egg on the big end with the air cell and it will iluminate the inside of the egg. A super bright light and you can see the yellow glow of the yolk and the red blood in the veins. Literally you can see the colors.

My "improvements" because I had to rescue chicks from the fan, the hole (I cut it a little too large

) and the wires on the thermostat

our girls arent even close to laying yet (10 weeks old) and ya know what I told DH today....."guess what you can build me next". Thankfully he is all for it!!!!!!!!!!

Miss Prissy.....you inspire me! If you havent been told lately.....you rock!
(I have spent some time looking at your webpage) I wanna be like you!

You want to be a 40 something year old married woman with kids aging 21 - 2 years old with never enough time or hands in a day to get all the jobs done and done well?

what day are we on now? I tried to skim through this to see if I could figure it out and to no avail... Did any hatch? are they still incubateing? how are they doing? I know... so many questions. But currious minds want to know.

That diagram is the best! Thanks! I did wire it wrong the first time and blew a fuse; luckily these days, you just flip a switch. Hubby was laughing and came to help. I really didn't understand what he did; but your diagram clears it up for my next new improved bator.
