And any ideas on what happened to these two? They were fully hatched. I wonder if she suffocated them? Her breast is bald and it was super hot underneath her when I lifted her up.

Poor babies, probably suffocated. Don’t be hard on yourself or the mumma you are doing so great! The rest look very healthy. Cuteness overload!

2 days old

All of them have straight combs except the smallest one with the brown head which has a flat comb for now. I *think* that one must be a golden sebright, and the others either serama or OEGB.

What do you think?

Well these little blighters are growing like weeds! Still teensy tiny but lovely wing feathers coming in.

And... my 3 Welsummer and 4 Barnevelder bantam clutch are on day 20 today!

I am not overly hopeful of a good hatch because they were shipped eggs and most had mobile or saddle air sacs, and I haven't been able to candle the dark eggs too well. So we will see.

Hopefully some chicks either today or tomorrow . Wish me hatching luck

I'm mainly just talking to myself here but that's OK! It's like a little hatching journal for me.

So, this evening about 3 hours ago, I saw 2 Barnevelder eggs with pips and little beaks sticking out! I'm trying to stop myself from going and checking on them to see if they've zipped yet. It's hard!

Thank you! Yes they are the size of little sparrows and so quick and flighty. I can't wait for them to grow so I can see who is who.
