chickn,
If it starts at 8, do we need to get there earlier to set up?

i usually put 9-1 set up around 8, that is usually how it goes, we try to get there as close to 8 as we can, you can do whatever works for you. thats fine. i dont think anyone wants to get there before the store opens at 8.

Thanks Chickn,
Just wanted to make sure it wasn't different from the others.

what month is it that we should look into starting the tomato plants i cant remember

also, can we advertise this swap a bit better, i dont know if any flyers went up anywhere and i dont know if they store puts up a flyer in the window, i know they put them in the bags.

I would start now. We typically start our tomatoes in March.

Its too bad the TSC's don't have a marquee on the road, like Blue Seal in Milford does. They could put "Chicken Swap this Sat. 9-1" just like Blue Seal put their poultry seminar up.

i was surprised at the people saying we happen to be driving by, and didnt know about it before hand.

you start the plants outside now? i dont mean start, i meant plant outside, we dont start plants, we buy started plants from you who start them for us!!

Sorry, I misunderstood.... haven't had my 2nd cup of java. I would put them in the ground in May, depending on weather, early to mid May... I would say by Memorial Day at the latest. If you put tomatoes in the ground now they will surely die, unless you have cold frames.

Are you looking for anything in particular that I need to set aside?

On planting tomatoes outside......when the ground is warm enough to walk barefoot.......thats what the old timers will tell you.LOL My dad tells his cutomers to plant the warm weather vegis around Memorial day weekend. This is one time I listen..it's what he went to school for and his greenhouses are celebrating 35 years this year.

That wouldn't work for me, I have been known to walk barefoot in the snow
