I just wanted to share info that my dad reminded me about. Heirloom tomatoes are more susceptible to diseases than hybrid varieties. Avoid planting heirloom tomatoes near tobacco plants (including flowering nicotiana). To avoid tobacco mosaic virus that can destroy your plants, don't handle tomato plants during or after smoking.Remember to wash your hands before touching plants, also try to not smoke near them.

That advice goes for a lot of other plants as well .
also If you are on medications and you notice your plants start dying off after you handle them its because they are reacting to the chemicals in your skin.
I wear plastic or non latex gloves when touching plants, the meds I am on definately kill the plants.

Yay! I'm glad someone posted more info!
I missed the last one, and am hoping I get to come to this one!

Sounds like a silly question, but what exactly is a chicken swap? I know its a buy/sel/trade thing, but how does it work?

If I get the chance to come, I'm going to be looking for green/blue egg layers, frizzles, and/or guineas...eggs or chicks.

what happens is we get there to set up about 8- 830 we pull up to the parking area, usually farthest part from the door. we open up the backs of our vehicles and set up our cages or what ever we bring to sell, and people come and walk around and talk and buy sell trade. its fun

anyone plan to shop at tsc today or this 8-13th? the waterers are $2 off so thats only 4.99 and it looks like chick days but dont hold me too it. i really need a tsc closer to me
