CHICHESTER, NH CHICKEN SWAP-( SAT. JUNE 27TH!!)

So how do you freeze the eggs? I accidentally froze some last winter. My kitchen fridge was too full, so i put some eggs that i was given in the little fridge in our camper. It was plugged in, but i discovered that it barely needed to run during the winter, becasue the unheated uninsulated camper got as cold as outdoors. More than that, when the temps were in the teens or lower, the items in the camper fridge actually froze. I had gallons of milk that froze as well as a couple dozen eggs that froze in their shells! The shells cracked of course. I'm sure this is not a good way to do it! I thawed them in my house fridge, then made scrambled eggs to use them up quickly.

I crack them into a freezer safe bag in groups of 2 or 4, quickly scramble them then toss them in the freezer. The texture may be off slightly but you won't notice it when you cook them in scrambled eggs or in baking.

Worked fine for me until the big freezer quit a few weeks ago.

All,
A bunch of the regulars are planning on having a meeting tomorrow after the swap to discuss the future of what it is we do. All are welcome. We have been talking about having some kind of food. Either ordering pizza or cooking burgers or just a meeting? Thoughts?

I am kinda a newer person to the group, but i really like everyone I have met from this thread. I am sorry to say i will not be able to stay for long on Saturday because i have to get down to Salem to teach a class. i tried to get out of it, but couldnt, cause i would much rather be with my chickenm friends! Anyway, I know there was this tack shop in Brookline NH an the building is now vacant, but it sits on a large piece of land and I am wondering if there would be any interest in holding swaps there during the hotter months because there are trees and grass to set up on. My sister knows the owners and may be able to get permission for us to use it. Any ideas???
