How do I train them to come in to their "house" at night without having to chase them around their chicken yard?

lock them in the house with food and water for a few days, then they will treat it as home.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2, keep them in the coops for a few days so they learn it is home. Make sure the ramp or whatever you use for them to get into it is easy for them to use. If your coop is really dark you may need to leave on a small light on in there for a little while when it gets dark so they can see inside it.

Welcome to BYC!

X3 you need to lock chicks or new chickens in the coop for a couple days so they know where home is. Otherwise, they will not head into the coop at night.

Enjoy your flock and welcome to ours!
