I'm guessing this is not too big of a deal, but I am new to chickens and want to be sure I am handling it correctly.
My 4 week old Salmon Faverolle broke a blood feather on her foot a few days ago. I just washed it then sprayed a little Blue-Kote on it. Now today I see she has broken one on her other foot. I was planning to care for it in the same way, unless there is something more/better I should do. Is this a common issue with breeds with feathered feet? They don't seem to bleed all that long or all that much, but her feet of course walk in dirty areas so I guess the risk for infection is there. Thanks for any help!
