OK, I know this sounds really weird, but DD (7) has a pen with a little felt chicken on the top, she uses it to keep data on the chicks - now 3.5 weeks old. The chicken on the pen *had* 3/8" diameter googly eyes. Yesterday while they were running around in the living room while I cleaned out the brooder one of the Golden Lace Polish chicks managed to pick off and eat one of the eyes before DD could grab it. Needless to say she (DD, chick seemed proud )was pretty distressed...and then pulled the other googly eye off the pen and threw the eye away. Anyway, can't seem to feel it in the crop, chick seems to be fine, running around, eating, pooping, sleeping. Do you think it will "come out OK"? Is there anything I can do to help? I have seen chickens eat all kinds of strange things, but never this! Thanks in advance for any insight!!! Oh, they have free access to sand, but can't imagine that sand could ground down a googly eye...
