Chick attached to egg????? What to do

I have a chick that hatched about 1-2 hours ago. It is still attached to part of the shell by it's little "cord". Should I cut it or wIt for it to fall off. It looks so miserable dragging that shell around.

does the cord look like it has blood in it?

No. Not bright red. Looks brown-ish.

i would wait maybe another hour and see if it has changed color and if you think all the blood has gone into the chick you will be able to cut it, if there is still blood flowing the chick may bleed to death. it could still fall off on its own.
was this chick hatched in an incubator or under a hen?

Incubator. It was a day late hatching. All it's siblings hatched without a problem.

Well, better safe than sorry.it won't hurt him to drag the egg shell around for a bit and it will fall off when he has all the nutrients out of it.

it will be off by morning

If they have all hatched and fluffed you can move them to the brooder..
oh by the way, it is a rule that you have to provide pictures of all new fuzzybutts.....
