Chick bald spots!

I am a first time chick owner and I have 4 berred rock chicks that are 3 weeks old and I noticed that one of the. Have a HUGE bald spot on its chest!!! I am wondering what I do to stop/treat that problem...

A narrative without a photo is not very helpful just as a photo without a narrative is giving incomplete information. We need to see the HUGE bald spot to see how really HUGE it is or if it might be a minor thinning of the down that may be entirely normal.

Have you observed your chicks playing? Chicks are very amusing and sometimes better than TV. But in the process of being entertained, you may be in the right place at the right time to observe behavior that is damaging to the chicks and you'd be able to take measures to stop it.

Very young chicks, mostly in the first couple of weeks, can become fixated on a feature of one of their mates and then the behavior can become compulsive and measures need to be taken to mitigate it so no one gets hurt. Looks like the thinning of the down as the new feathers are coming in.

How does the chick sleep? What is the bedding if it's on the floor? Is there a lot of coarse material or poop buildup? Is the floor wire without any bedding?

The chick sleeps on its stomach with 1 wing out the bedding is large wood shavings there is little to no poop at all as I have messy ducklings and they make the wood shavings wet and I have to clean there tub just about daily I have them in a large plastic tub with plenty of ventilation. I have noticed that 1 or 2 of the chicks do have diarrhea but that had that sense week 1.

The "diarrhea" may be simple cecal poops. It's generally a light brown in chicks and can be liquid appearing. The cecal poop become chocolate brown as the chicken matures. Sometimes the cecal poop is mixed with a bit of the urates and is a bit more solid.

As long as all your chicks are active and eating, poop is not too important.
