This poor little guy. I had helped peel some shell back but saw a drop of blood and stopped. He didn’t bleed anymore and then an hour later I was watching and one of the hatched chicks came over and pecked at it a few times then all of a sudden a rush of blood and now it stopped but there’s this blood in there. The chick is still breathing but what do I do?

Let nature take it's course. If it hatches it hatches, if it doesn't it doesn't. Chicks that you help out of the shell very often do not live anyhow. Leave it alone, it knows more about coming out of that shell than you do. It's ancestors have been doing it for millennia.

Assisting chicks hatch is very tricky and can be difficult. As long as the chick has a hole on the shell where he can breathe then let it take its course. It can take even 24 hours from when he pokes through the shell to completely hatch. If they're not making progress is because they still have a yolk to absorb and still have those blood vessels. They know what they're doing.
