Chick born today with bad foot

I'm a Lil stressed one of my Malay chics was born with a bad foot barely a day old will this condition correct it self or will I have a handicapped young one on my hands .

Can you straighten the toes at all? If you can, then you may be able to splint them and correct it. If you can't you have 2 choices. Either hope that the chick can learn how to get around with that deformed foot. She will most likely be picked on by the rest of her flock mates, and will be more prone to injury and other issues that come along with being handicapped, or you can cull her. These issues can be caused by temperature fluctuations during incubation, poor nutrient in the breeders, or genetics. In either case, in case it is related to nutrition, I'd get the chicks on Poultry Nutri - Drench. All my chicks get it during the first 2 weeks, no matter what.

These links may help. Basically, there are a few options here. Your incubator temp may have been off, yourchick may have a genetic predisposition for the problem, or it could be a vitamin deficiency. In any case, your best bet is a foot brace ASAP.
