I just got a few day old chicks yesterday and I noticed that when one of the barred rocks is lying down her breathing is more noticeable than the other chicks. Like I can see her body inhale/exhale, and it also looks slightly faster. She isn’t wheezing, coughing or sneezing and she is eating and drinking just fine. She’s also happily running around with the other chicks. Should I be worried about her breathing? And is there anything I can do to fix it?

I don’t have a ton of experience with this, but if she is alert and active, I’m going to say she’s probably okay. I think maybe when they are lying down, their breathing is more noticeable when they have a hard surface for their inhales and exhales to press against :p. But just keep a closer eye on her over the next few days just in case.

Yeah hopefully it’s nothing. She is breathing significantly faster than the other chicks though so I’m just worried
