Leg color one the one and pattern on both are wrong for Welsummers.

Both of these chicks have been dealing with pasty butt, and I just realized that could be why they are so much smaller than the same aged barred rock.

It's possible they are bantams.

Your black skinned chick looks to possibly be getting Silkie feathering, which is why "no feathers" are apparent, and also why it is so much smaller.

And yes, the Wyandotte mix may be bantam as well.

Its not a very detailed photo, but here are the two chicks at 3 weeks old along with 10 day old RIR, Australorp, and a Jersey Giant. Bantam definitely looks like a possibility. I decided to raise them in the brooder and left mom with the Barred Rock chick. They seem to crave the heat lamp more so than the 10 day olds.

I'm thinking they're both mixed bantams, and VERY cute.

Pretty sure your dark-skinned puff is a Silkie cross.
