So I just brought home my first ever chicks - six golden laced Wyandottes, all three weeks old. Their original caregiver was using straw as the bedding for their brooder, but I put them on aspen shavings. I didn’t think they’d take to eating the shavings, being theyre already three weeks old, but I found them picking at it a bit. I decided to cover the shavings with cloth towels until the settle down a bit. But just about as soon as I put the towels down, they started rolling in it, like a dust-bathing behaviour, and lying on one particular soft towel. They’re really obsessed with it. Any idea why? Should I be a worried?
