I have hatched my very first Black Copper Marans chick but it can not walk. It tries to stand but it's feet don't spread out. The outer toe is right up against the big toe in the middle. It sits back on its hocks after it tries to stand then lays it's head down like it is worn out. We had to help it out of the shell this morning around 7 after about 32 hours since it had stuck to part of the shell. I don't think this is Splayed Leg that I have read about but not sure what to do. It is still in the incubator drying out at this point. Is chirping loudly and looks otherwise healthy.
Help! Don't want to lose my first hatched baby!

Did not have any replies but have been working the chicks toes out straight, massaging them, and putting them flat on the floor several times a day and now she can walk just fine.

Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
