Chick death

I had two chicks and one hen and a few days ago one of the chicks was eaten by a raccoon that got into their coup. The two chicks were only together for around two weeks but were always together. The other one is now in a constant state of panic and is constantly crying and does not like being alone from me now. Would getting more chicks help calm her down? Is this something that will go away over time?

You only have one hen? She might not take care of more chicks but I'd say it's worth getting a couple more chicks for the baby even if the hen doesn't accept them and you have to separate the chicks for now
