CHICK DOING SOMERSAULTS

I'm so pleased for you. You acted quickly and I assume you'll continue with the vitamins. That vitamin E tip is invaluable. When I raise chicks again I'm going to have some on hand.

Yes I will continue with the vitamins. Now my question is about too many vitamins...LOL. Is there a such thing as too much?

I think this whole site is invaluable. I am still fairly new to the chicken world and if it wasn't for this site and the great people here that help, I probably wouldn't have chickens.

I am picking up some vit e today. He actually pulled through with poly-vi-sol and pedialite. So for extra measure I will add vit e. Especially since it seems to be wry neck. I am just worried about an overdose of vitamins. Kill it or cure it, right? LOL

Well he is in a growth phase so I'd continue with the dosage you're using. It is possible to overdose any animal and I think the vit E is a splendid idea, but under the circumstances getting him supplemented is the idea and it seems to be working- nicely done!

I am so glad I ran across this thread! I have a 6 week old BR doing the same thing. She started last night and now I have hope that I can fix this too since I found it early. She is our favorite little chick. I am going out soon to get some Vit E.

Can I ask, did you give her selenium at all? I keep seeing that come up as a necessary thing but I don't see a lot of people using it.

I have an older hen that is off balance, Staggers around and will rollover forward and land on her back. She is 5 years old so it is not Mareks . I am treating her for acute cocci. and gave her a worm pill. She seemed a little better today. But still not able to walk much.
