My chicks have never been in the house and never will be. I raise them in my attached garage. I was amazed last year at the amount of dust. I moved the to the coop (with a heat lamp) at six weeks. This year I will have 25 in the garage. I will probably move them to their coop at about 5 weeks this year (with a 250 watt heat lamp). The temperatures are usually pretty nice here by mid May. Note - They will have their own coop. I will not integrate the two flocks until the younger ones are about 18 weeks old.
