Help!! I’m a first time flock owner. My 3-4 month old chick was leaning yesterday. I quickly brought her inside and treated her for what I thought could be dehydration. Her neck kept tilting to the right, and she was working hard to correct it. Today, it seems she can barely stand, still falling to that right side. I’ve inspected her whole body and nothing seems to be visibly wrong. She’s still eating, drinking, and has solid stool.
What can I do?

Hi @Alaskanflock :frow Welcome To BYC

Do you have any photos of her?

It sounds like she has Wry Neck which is a neurological symptom of certain conditions like vitamin/nutritional deficiency, head trauma/injury and diseases like Marek's, Newcastles or Avian Lymphoid Leukosis.

Add vitamins E, B1 and the mineral Selenium to her diet. You can use human vitamins - 400IU daily of Vitamin E, 1/2 human B-Complex vitamin (no iron) and give egg, tuna or nuts for Selenium. If you have poultry vitamins that contain E and B1 you can also use those.

Hopefully the vitamin therapy will start to help her. She is about the right age for symptoms of Marek's to present itself as well. While there is no cure for Marek's it won't hurt to offer supportive care, encourage them to eat/drink. http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/the-great-big-giant-mareks-disease-faq

Hi! Thank you! I’ve got her on the vitamins suggested and she seems to really be improving. I’m watching her drink on her own (without my encouragement) for the first time in 2-3 days!

What a little sweetie!
I'm glad she is improving and drinking well. Hopefully with vitamin support and some extra care she will recover quickly.

Thank you for the photo and update:)
