Chick start to grow mash around 10 weeks
Grow mash to lay mash around 20 weeks.

At least this is what we did.

You should have them on chick starter for the first 19 weeks, then go to right to laying mash.

But what if they are in with the big girls? I have chick starter available to them, but they seem pretty interested in the layer mash. And the layers seem to want to eat the chick starter. Is this a big deal? Will they just eat what they eat and be ok?

My local feed store, whose owners also have chickens, say chick sarterfor 6-8 weeks, then grower feed until they start laying. After they start laying switch to the layer feed or regular chick feed. If you have roosters, you'll not want to use layer feed.
