Chick getting pecked on.

Hi everyone! I'm very new to have chicks. I have 6 4 week old Buff Orpingtons and 3 3wk old Isa Browns and 3 Welsumers in a extra large dog crate. They are doing great! Today I noticed one of my OPs was being pecked at around where its tail feathers are coming in. I'm certain we're running out of room for the girls to be together any longer, but it's still frigid outside. Is there anything I can do to help this pecked at gal until it's better and how can I keep the others ones from pecking at her??

Really other than extending the brooder, they probably will keep at her. It is normal for pecking actually cause it can just be their way of deciding pecking order. But if they are getting over crowded they will peck at one another more. If they are making her bare then I would try to extend the brooder or separate her for awhile.

Thank you for the tip! I've separated her from the others temporarily until I figure something out.
