chick having convulsions?impacted crop?help! please.

ok, i will give her grit but i thought i'd tell you guys that grit doesn't do it's job inside the crop. it does it's job farther down, in the gizzard. so i don't believe it will do much. she isn't any better, but no worse.

Food can't get from the crop to the gizzard to be pulverized if the gizzaerd is already full of food that is too large to digest.
Keep us posted on how she is doing, please.
You can still get parakeet/canary grit at Walmart. I just got a box there. It's from Hartz.

I already have some grit but i called the bird vet and they said she wouldn't need it. she has been pooping but her crop is still bloated. she seems happy though(probably because we're pampering her) so hopefully she'll be OK.

Thank you so much, but the chick is actually doing better. Methinks he just overstuffed himself, because his crop was awful full and the 'convulsions' were probably just him trying to throw up. I will check the threads, just because.
