Hi everyone, is there anyone who can help to give me ideas what could be wrong with my chick and maybe give me ideas to fix the problem.
The chick was born two days ago and I noticed when I took it out of the incubator that it was having trouble standing. when i pop it in the brooder he was limping badly to the point that if it had to walk it would hop. I thought it might have been straddle leg so I have taped it, it can stand up now, but seems to stand on one leg. The chick is eating & drinking . Please HELP.

are you giving vitamins?

sometimes leg problems are caused by a lack of riboflavin.(a B vitamin)
get some Poly-vi-sol liquid baby vitamins, Enfamil brand, no iron..
give 2 drops on beak once a day for a week or so, then taper off for a week..
in the meantime, get chick vitamins ..

what bedding are you using?
it should be non-slip..such as the rubbery non-slip shelf lining, or ribbed paper towels.

sometimes the problem happens in the egg, or during the hatch..sometimes it's genetic.

continue with the band-aid brace..

Hi Sammi thxs for the reply, I took the brace of just now and it doesn't want to use the bad leg and all it stands on one leg, and hops if it wants to move. i will post pics.
