Chick hazard.

So, I don't usually put a cover on my chick brooder until they're 3 weeks, but I might need to go get it to protect them from my daughter helping. She knows how to give her big chickens food by throwing it at them. So far she has 'given' the 3 day old chicks: a pair of scissors, a paper towel, an empty plastic container, my eyeglasses, daddy's car keys (twice), a dog biscuit, some chick feed (that one was good, but she spilled a lot of it), and her bottle.

I would definitely cover them and move them somewhere out of her reach. I saw a thread on here a few years ago about someone's 2 year old getting into their chick enclosure and squeezing all of their chicks to death.

Haha. Maybe my comedy was a little too tongue in cheek. Yes, toddlers will absolutely do that.

No no, you're fine . I just wanted you to know so you could avoid something awful. I know everyone wants to believe their kid would never do it, but toddlers don't know any better and sometimes think they're toys.
