Chick imprinted on me

I can feel your pain. I had a chick I hatched out that was a cross beak. I had her for 3 years until one day in the middle of the day while I was distracted, a fox snatched her. I looked for her but all I found were feathers. I'm still mad at myself for not leaving her in her pen. I knew it was a risk to let her out. She was special and would come when I called her and loved to be held. Good luck and keep the faith...

Put a poop catcher in your shirt and carry it in there.
They normally stop being quite so peepy after the first day and will start to bond with other chicks.
When you pop one out yourself though they're pretty much all yours the first day. :p

Had to help chick hatch, now it's imprinted on me. How do I get it to un imprint?? It screams until I pick it up. And I can't just leave it in the brooder because it echos. And my great grandmother is sleeping also. So I don't wanna wake her up.

I'm still upset that I couldn't prevent my baby buddy's death.
