Hi everyone

I have 6 light brahma eggs on my brimsea eco incubator. We are on day 19. 2 eggs are pipped and one has hatched.

It seems that the new little guy managed to get his leg tangled in the thin white membrane that is attached to some shell.

Should I help him out by taking the egg shell off or leave him be?

Sorry pic isn't very good. If I can get a better one I will post it.

If you don't have any others zipping at the moment, you can slip him out quickly, untangle him and discard the shell, and either pop him back in or move him to the brooder. Just close the incubator back up as quickly as possible.

Well. I did the typical newbie stupid mistake and quickly (20 seconds) untangled the little guy to the point we was at in the above pic.

At the point two eggs had pipped. May have screwed it all up, but time will tell.

Darn it. I hate seeing animals struggle but I may have done more harm then stupid good. Errrrr

Thank you for your replies. I've put in a pic of the other eggs pip. Not sure if it's a small or big pip or a zip?
