Chick late to feather?

My black astralorp was the same way! The runt of the flock. This past week it has gotten new feathers everywhere, and grew like someone fed it miracle grow! I'm not kidding. It just took off. I didn't even recognize it Sunday when I went out to feed. I was out of town on Saturday and so missed a day of seeing them. Anyway, along with those feathers came a RED COMB AND WATTLES! No one else has even a pink comb yet! He is 6 or 7 weeks old now.

So, maybe it is a roo, and just slow in getting feathers??

I don't know why this happens but I have a light brahma that is the same way. She is very healthy but it is almost like her down feathers have come in before the real feathers. We named her HotWing because you can see all of her wings. lol I wish I had a pic to show but if you can imagine a day old chick just really really big. Just a giant fuzz ball. She is 9 weeks old and nothing but fuzz.

Edit: I suppose it could be a roo...hoping not. I love HotWing!

Thanks for the replies. I guess I won't worry since s/he seems to be quite active and is eating and drinking. Next time I go out, I'll have to compare this one with the EE who's supposed to be a roo.
