Chick likes to sleep on back (Pic included)

I have a single serama on his that hatched on halloween and I keep finding him sleeping on his back.. scares me it seems he can't get back on his own... but he seems at ease with it.

Just this morning watched as one two week old silkie was giving herself a dust bath in the warm sand pile and fell asleep over on her side...if she hadn't looked so blissed out I might have panicked...very timely photos and posting...thanks!

This one scared the beejebus outta me a f ew minutes ago. I think in her case it's because her tummy is so round when she rolled over she couldn't get back up - like a turtle. Just to be safe, I put her on her tummy, since she's less than 12 hours old and I didn't know if it was safe for her. I know this is an old thread, but thought maybe an earlier poster would have more insight now?

Haha! Little newborns are so cool. Mine are now running happily around the brooder. I have a tiny polish chick 4 wks old that was the runt and she's about their size. I put her in with them and they started pecking her and pulling at her feathers. Bad kids! Lol. I took her out, poor thing.
