The male that I have was sold to me as a d'uccle but I am not sure what the color is and his stance is all wrong,,

i do agree that he dosent have the best stance the coloring is mille fleur just a bad case of no spangling he might get the spangling later as he matures he dosent have many feathers on his feet does he have falcon hocks? his wings r covering them he has very large wattles and comb for the breed if u cull he might be a canadit i dont myself but i know some who do you could also try compensation mating so find a hen with small to no wattles and small comb hens with nicely feathered feet and well developed color i hope thar does something for you

I dont cull unless I have a sick bird that I cant heal. I am a small scale farmer so I keep everybody (when I start hatching that is gonna be a problem

) I juat cant cull a healthy bird. The 2 girls in my avatar are the d'uccles I bought for him. I eill see what becomes of that next spring. He has small ..very small falconing on the hocks, nothing at all like the girls,

i have the same problem i can sell them but culling i couldnt do unless of course their suffering but ive had to put many button quails out very horrible really he has some quirks but most of them look like they can be overcome youll just have to hatch some and see if you hatch them in big groups its easier to sell some btw love those turkeys i tryed to hatch turkeys out of 4 two hatched 1 died right after hatching and the other died two days later it couldnt walk?:/

I think he is a very beautiful boy his feathers are nice and bright and deep golden. He is very good to his girls even though they are 14 wks and he is 20wks, he brings them food and chases off others who pick on them and he isnt even the alpha of the flock. I think he will make beautiful babies with these 2. The girls are getting more and more spangling as they grow cant wait till they get their full color they are gonna be crazy spangled

.. I have gotten suggestions from people to try to breed my golden sebrite to one of the girls or my d'uccle roo to my brahma bantam, so many options

... I do have some people wating some next year so I have homes ready..
The turkeys are great, I love them, they love attention and run to me when I come out and follow me and take walks with me. They are super hillariious. I keep mine with my chickens and they are all just fine and the flock works wonderfuly. I have orders for poults next season too, I hope the girls are ready....

i guess if your happy with him then thats all that matters if he's pure d'uccle he should produce fine offspring i have what i beleive r a pair of d'uccle sebright mixes they r very pretty and incredably soft almost like silk so that wouldnt be a bad idea at all whatever u do i hope it works out to your advantage

The d'uccle/sebrite sounds wonderful, do you have pics on here of them?
The guy I got my roo from had about 7 that looked exactly like mine when I got him. After talking to him yesterday he said they are buff columbian its just that the hatch hasnt grown the black around the neck... I personally think he looks way to dark red to be buff maybe I am off.. Maybe he needs to get his adult colors before I throw it off??? The guy I deal with is a super nice guy but breeds for money and I know my EE's that I bought from him that he said were ameracaunas were just a product of his Ameracauna roo getting after whoeverhe wished and that is fine. I have decided to do my chick buying elsewere, I want the breeder to be able to tell me if they are a "ooooppppsss" mating product. I like to know what they are mixed with is all. I have 2 that I am trying to figure out other than the d;uccle roo.

i camt wait till spring either i just love having the babies around. it drives me crazy trying to figure out what my mixes r mixed with im putting some pictures of the sebright/d'uccle mix they r 9 wks old the roo started crowing at 3 wks so they most mature fast my self blue d'uccle roo started crowing yesterday he sounds pathetic i keep forgetting about buff columbian i have mille fleur on the brain having 6 new ones and the broodie hen that caused them shes been broodie 4 times this spring/summer only 1 of my d'uccles has not gone broodie im selling my d'uccles but im working at quality over quantity and just getting money

Ok so he is probably columbian, I am seeing a black lacing come in. In any case he is a super handsome roo and is good to the girls but is getting some competition the last couple days my EE bantam has been bringing treats and picking up and dropping feed when he is near them and that is always. LOL its so awesome to see the big bad roo be so gentle at times.
I really cant wait to start hatching, it will be my very first with my own flock. Up until last year I spent all my time helping on the family farm with the animals, chickens and goats and cattle. My gma pasted last year and everything was sold off. I loved the chickens so this year I started my own flock. It is much different doing it myself all on my own, she would let the hens hatch out whatever they could and that is how it was, ya know old farmer ways

. I am super glad I found this site cause I am getting lots of help. You never realize the things that you dont pick up from gma until you are on your own..
I really hope my two d'uccles go broody. I really would love to let them hatch their own but I have no brooding house to seperate. I am going to try it next year but I need to buy or create i I can an incubator and brooder. Wondering what kind of homemade one I can come up with.....

i working on making a incubator out of a fridge he does look like buff columbian and once he gets some more black lacing yha old farmers and there ways they have really good info though i read somewhere that a man purchased 150 leghorns and asked a man who worked as a poultry judger to cull all the bad quaility ones and was left with one trio after he was done i couldnt do that even if i tried i probaly die myself i also uploaded some pics of the d'uccle sebrights
