Chick no Zipping

I’m hatching out serama and one of the eggs is pipped but it hasent progressed at all. The chick is peeping but it just pecks at the same hole. When I woke up around 4 this morning I noticed the hole in the egg and the humidity was 60%. It’s is now 1:30 in the afternoon and I’m beginning to worry. Any advice?

(No, I have no idea whence that's from. I just like the eyebrows) Seriously, though. Wait a few more hours before getting too worried. Most don't start assisting hatch until at least twenty-four hours in.

That egg looks fine. It can take 24 hours from pip to zip. This is a critical time for the chick to finish absorbing the yolk sac and blood from the egg.

Ok thanks guys. One of the others just hatched and I guess she got encouraged because she just started to zip. Thanks for calming my nerves lol

Awesome! The zipping goes pretty quick once they mean business. You're correct. They absolutely encourage each other to hatch. Post a pic when she's out.
