Chick not going to the bathroom?

Hi,

I am new to raising chicks and just had one hatch yesterday. The chick has been in the brooder all day today and has only pooped twice. He is not eating yet that I can see. I have tried to get him to drink a few times. Otherwise he seems alert. Should he be pooping more? I thought my first few chicks went to the bathroom pretty regularly.
