I had a chick hatch 12 hours ago. It has been on it's back since it hatched. I have turned it over twice, the last time I put it on a towel and it flipped back over. It's not throwing it's head back like wry, but just laying, sleeping on back. It will wake and try and turn over but just can't. It also seems to shake sometimes, it's 99-100 degrees in incubator so it shouldn't be cold. Should I be concerned?

Newly hatched chicks will flop all over the place and occasionally flip onto their back for periods of time as well but it's not good for it to stay on it's back for extended periods of time. I would put the chick into something so that it can't flip over and try offering some Nutridrench for poultry or polyvisol WITHOUT iron a liquid baby vitamin by placing a small drip on the side of it's beak, do not force it though because it's quite easy for chicks to aspirate.
