I got two new chicks today. One of them keeps opening and closing it’s mouth, almost like it’s breathing through that instead of it’s nose. It’s definitely not panting. Any ideas as to why?
UPDATE 2: she’s not eating or drinking and will stand in place unless her sister bumps into her. Not looking too good for her :(
UPDATE 3: Shes starting to mill about a little more, and has started eating and drinking in little bits. The mouth thing is off and on, mainly off. Hopefully a better sign

feel its crop, if it has food in it. they do this to adjust their crop when food is in it
I don’t feel any crumbles despite the fact she has been eating lots. She has also been pooping too, so I think her digestive system is alright

maybe give them some save a chick electrolites.
does she do it constantly? can you get a video of it on your phone and upload to youtube?
if so give us a link. will be easier to diagnose if we see it <3

Here it is. And I don’t have any electrolytes on hand 😬

She also is constantly calling for me. If I leave the room, she starts calling very loudly (unsure if this is related)

AWWW that don't look good. shes not adjusting her crop. i had a chick do this and she didn't make it sadly. you might want to get some vetrx asap. it might or might not be related. seems like a respitory issue. does she have a running nose? does she eat, drink, poop normal?
sadly this don't look good. its like shes struggling to breathe. @Eggcessive @Kiki @rosemarythyme @Wyorp Rock @aart any ideas?

Nose is dry, and she’s pooping, eating, and drinking normally.
