I'm managing the heat lamp very closely. It's 95 degrees in half the brooder and down to 73-78 in the other half. She eats, drinks, plays, poops, etc., just like my 7 day old Red Star chick. But the 7 day old never does the 'pant'.
They sleep all over the brooder. She does seem to pant mostly while under the lamp, but not always. Since the other chick doesn't, it seems weird.
Can a younger chick like it cooler than an older chick? Any advice is appreciated by me, Nugget, and Patty.
