Hi there, I have a newly hatched flock of about 12 chicks, all of them are perfectly healthy except for one chick who won't stop panting. at first, I thought that it was heat stress and adjusted the heater accordingly, but even after that she is still panting and all of my other chicks seems to be fine. she isn't as active as the rest of her brothers and sisters and keeps her eyes closed most of the time, she walks around funny and not very straight. I've added some sav-a-chick to the water recently so maybe I should wait a little longer for the results, but I'm still worried. any idea what's wrong with her?

We had one that did that two days ago. Lethargic, panting, straining to poop. We think it had some type of digestive failure, she passed shortly after. You could try some poly vi sol, nutri drench, or sugar water syringed to the side of the beak. In our last two hatches we had one that just didn't seem right after a few days. My guess is that after the three day mark is when any heart, lung, digestive deformities will manifest themselves.
