Chick shipment?

So sorry to hear that. You never do really know the cause of death ... whether it's something that happened during shipping or after. I will PM you the phone numbers for Hoover's and they will get you a refund or replacement birds.

thank you @byclover2

Well, I went into town (60 miles) this afternoon & found that Murdoch's has BRs; I got three new healthy additions

. I don't know why, I was under the impression that I couldn't get them around here. I could have avoided that whole mess. Live & learn, I guess. The three others from the shipment are now doing well. What troopers!

I noticed that they weren't super active until I turned on the studio spot light. Unfortunately, the bulb burnt out about 10 minutes after turning it on.

AWWWWW....I see fluffy butts!
Precious!

Aren't they! I'll get better closeups in the coming days, trying to handle them as least as possible, for now to keep stress levels down.

Do you think it would be a good idea to provide white light during the day, to keep their activity up. Not a lot of lights gets inside, just because the sun is still kind of low (mountains block it, for much of the morning).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your chicks arrived safely and all alive

I stumbled upon this and it sounds all to familiar. We also ordered from tractor supply. And same hatchery. We ordered 20. After 12 hours 13 total dead. 5 were DOA. By the next day 17 were dead. I figured it was a bad batch. So they sent replacements. We received 19 this morning. Only 1 was alive and 1 we were able to revive. Whether they survive or not I'm not sure. Last time they seemed fine then would be dead later. This time I requested a refund. We live in northern wyoming. I tried to put a review on tractor supply of the incident to warn others and they would not post it. I would never order from there again. 34 dead chicks out of 41 seems to be a little excessive to me.
