Hi can someone please help me identify the problem with this chick and hopefully a cure? The chick is about three weeks old and significantly smaller than the rest of the chicks. Also she doesn’t move as much as the rest of them. Sometimes she is by herself. Thank you.

I think Since young chicks' immune systems are still growing, they are susceptible to germs, which increases the likelihood of an abscess or infection. An abscess may result from germs introduced by even a little wound close to the vent area, which can cause swelling and fluid accumulation. To combat the infection, the immune system produces white blood cells, which results in inflammation. Because of the exposure to waste and moisture, the vent area is particularly vulnerable to infections. On the other hand, a hernia may form because the muscles surrounding a woman's abdomen are still growing. A lump may form if internal tissues or organs push through the abdominal wall due to pressure or a weak area. Since the vent area is a natural entrance in the body, it is frequently used for purpose.
