Read a story about people who were given a chick with similar leg problem. She grew up with her leg sticking out and she was part of a 5-hen flock but after 2 yrs old she died of complications from the leg being in such a dislocated position -- and who knows how painful it was for the hen to endure since chickens do their utmost best not to exhibit the pain they feel until they're completely debilitated. I am so sorry whenever the prognosis for a chicken is to live with a painful disability. It makes you want so desperately to help them because they are so sweet and don't understand what's happening to them. I've lost chicks and it's never easy. Thanks to @casportpony and @CuckooOrpington for their care and knowledgeable input!
It's been about 16 hours and she's still limping but she is eating well and drinking (she's separated from the others so that she doesn't have to fight for food and water). I'm hoping she improves quickly. Thanks again!
